The Village

 

Located in Due Carrare, the small old village of Pontemanco represents a fabulous part of the area extending from the foot of Euganean Hills to the thermal springs towns. Developed around XIII century along the Biancolino River, it grew up around its own mill. Today it seems as if time has stopped in this charming village with fascinating landscapes where guests can go bicycling, running, walking, picnicking and more. Referring to its history, you will admire the mill, currently undergoing restructuring, as well as Grimani Palace with its old oratory in addition to the old small square, now restructured, that has become a place suitable both for relaxing or departing to visit amazing views along the river and countryside. In Due Carrare you’ll also find the old Abbey in Carrara San Stefano built in the XV century and the Historical Air Museum in San Pelagio.

Thanks to its location near Terme Euganee motorway exit, you’ll reach the main historical cities in the Veneto Region like Padova (15 mins) Venice (45 mins) Verona (60 mins). You can also visit the spa towns of Abano and Montegrotto in just 10 mins, reach the seaside in just 45 mins discovering either the picturesque city of Chioggia or the Pò River Delta National Park. If you prefer enjoying yourself around the beautiful environment in the Euganean Hills, in just a 5-min drive you’ll find amazing walks, the 70-kilometre long cycling path, walled cities like Monselice, Este and Montagnana.

Last but not least, if you like tasting typical local dishes, we suggest you to discover Friularo wine along the Friularo route which is growing in international markets, Arquà Petrarca olive oil, “American” sweet potatoes in Anguillara, Maserà radicchio, Tribano asparagus, and Polverara chicken; all products which we’ll help you to discover within a maximum 15-min range by car.
